Who We Are

Since 2021, the MUTP has been involved in activating the South Sacramento Community's interest in the growth of our urban tree canopy. 

~To date, we have partnered with our neighbors, running programs that have resulted in over 50 new trees planted on their properties.

~Our volunteers have helped with the planting of dozens of trees in our parks and school properties.

~We have appeared at various community events, promoting our programs, and educating the community about all things trees.

• Sacramento County and Supervisor Patrick Kennedy, who has helped us with generous funding.

• The City of Sacramento and Councilmember Mai Vang, who has supported our neighborhood planting events,

• The Sacramento Tree Foundation, who has partnered with us for all of our projects that have placed trees on private property.

• SMUD, not only a generous funder, but also provides free tree samplings to our community, through the Sacramento Tree Foundation's Sacramento Shade program.

• California ReLeaf Network, a statewide non-profit dedicated to supporting grassroots efforts and building strategic partnerships to protect, enhance, and grow California's urban and community forests.

• California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire), a major funder for forestry projects throughout the state.

• PG&E, a generous funder for environment projects in their service area.
