Current Projects

• Mistletoe Abatement - There are numerous areas in our community that have trees with mistletoe infestation.  Do you live in South Sacramento? Do you lack the appropriate tools to manage this problem? We can help!

The Meadowview Urban Tree Project has a cordless chainsaw and a bypass pruner, both with pole extensions,  that we can loan you. Please fill out the contact form on this website, or email info@mutp.org for further information.  For information on how to remove mistletoe, click here.

Past Projects

• Tree Stump Removal and Replacement (Round 3) - We are excited that County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy provided us with funds to continue this work though the Spring of 2024

• Tree Stump Removal and Replacement (Round 2) - Thanks to a generous grant from County Supervisor Patrick Kennedy, we were able to continue to offer this program from September 2022 through July 2023. Whereas the program previously only covered Meadowview and Cabrillo Park, it was extended out to cover South Sacramento! A picture log of may be viewed by clicking here. 

• Tree Stump Removal and Replacement (Round 1) - In conjuction with a grant from the Sacramento Tree Foundation, we successfully completed this project in April, 2022.  We were funded to offer free stump grinding for residential properties in exchange for delivery of trees for replanting. Fourteen stumps were removed, and we are pleased to have worked the Sacramento Tree Foundation to deliver trees. There was no cost involved for the program recipients! • Levar Burton Park Neighborhood Planting  (December 10, 2022) - This project included properties on the following Meadowview Streets: Bonavista Way, Expedition Way, Richfield Way, and Letizia Court.
